Time: almost 7:00 p.m.

Scene: in the car returning from an out of town shopping trip

(cell phone rings)

Me: (seeing it's my dear husband) Hi, we're almost home. We're running late.

Him: Okay, I was just checking on you.

Bethany: Was that Dad?

Me: Yes, he was just checking on us.

Bethany: That's sweet.

Hannah: Maybe he's just hungry!
